Looking to Rent a Forklift in San Diego?
San Diego businesses rent forklifts when buying doesn’t make sense yet. Common reasons include a seasonal inventory surge, a warehouse move or racking project, a construction phase, a container that needs unloading this week, or covering for your own forklift while it’s in for repair. Renting also lets you test a model in your own aisles before you commit to buying one.
Miramar Forklift has supplied forklift rental across San Diego County for more than 17 years. Our team will help you match the machine to your load, lift height, and floor surface, and every rental is maintained by the same technicians who service our sales fleet. If your rental runs long enough that buying would cost less, we’ll show you the numbers and our forklifts for sale.

Quick Answers, Quick Solutions.
Common questions from San Diego businesses about renting, buying, and servicing forklifts with us.
Miramar Forklift rents forklifts up to 5,000 lb capacity from $350 per day, $650 per week, or $1,200 per month. Larger 6,000 lb and 7,000 lb plus units cost more, and electric pallet jacks start at $150 per day.
Yes. Under Cal/OSHA Title 8, Section 3668, every operator must be trained and evaluated before driving a forklift, including a rental. Your company, as the employer, is responsible for that training and for keeping the certification records on file.
Start with your heaviest load, then check its size. A forklift's rated capacity applies at a set load center, usually 24 inches, so long or bulky loads reduce what it can safely lift. Share your load details and we will size the rental.
It depends on how long you need it. At our rates for units up to 5,000 lb, two daily rentals cost more than one week, and two weekly rentals cost more than one month, so longer terms usually save money.
Yes. For San Diego job sites, lumber yards, and gravel or uneven ground, rent a propane or diesel forklift with pneumatic tires. Electric forklifts with cushion tires are built for smooth indoor concrete and can struggle on rough outdoor surfaces.
