Forklift Trainings We Offer in San Diego
Every company has different schedules and equipment, so Miramar Forklift offers forklift training in three formats.
Onsite Training at Your Facility
Our trainer comes to your warehouse or job site and trains your crew on the equipment they actually use every day. Your team doesn’t have to travel, and the practical evaluation happens in your own aisles, docks, and yard. Onsite training is priced per person by quote. Enter your ZIP code on the booking page to confirm trainer availability in your area before scheduling.
Hands-On Training at a Miramar Training Center
Operators come to our training center in San Diego, Las Vegas, or Fresno for classroom instruction, practice in a warehouse simulation, and a practical evaluation. This option suits individuals, small companies without a training space, and new hires who need certification before their first shift.
Online Operator Training
The online forklift operator course is self-paced, works on any device, and takes about one to two hours. It covers the classroom portion of training, includes a final assessment with unlimited retakes, and issues a printable certificate when you pass. In California, the employer must still complete hands-on practical training and an evaluation before the operator drives at work.
Aerial Lift Training Near Me: San Diego, Las Vegas, and Fresno
Searching for aerial lift training near me usually means you need someone certified soon and close to home. Miramar Forklift runs hands-on training at three training centers, and our trainers also travel to customer sites.
San Diego Training Center
Our San Diego training center is in the Miramar area, close to the industrial and distribution businesses in Kearny Mesa, Sorrento Valley, and Mira Mesa. It offers every program on this page, including forklift, reach truck, order picker, electric pallet jack, scissor lift, and aerial/boom lift training. Instruction is available in English and Spanish.
Las Vegas Training Center
The Las Vegas training center serves operators across Southern Nevada, where warehouses, distribution centers, and construction sites need certified operators all year. Operators get hands-on training and evaluation on sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and electric pallet jacks, with a certificate and wallet card the same day. Companies that would rather train their own staff can also book in-person Train the Trainer sessions at this location.
Fresno Training Center
The Fresno training center brings the full range of programs to Central California, from food processing and agriculture to warehousing and distribution. Operators train on forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, electric pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and aerial/boom lifts in one place, so a crew can complete several certifications in a single visit. Training is available in English and Spanish, and group bookings are welcome.
What Happens During a Forklift Training Session
Hands-on and onsite sessions follow the same four steps, so every operator is trained and evaluated the same way.
- Classroom instruction: presentations, case studies, and group discussion on truck stability, load capacity, inspection, and workplace hazards.
- Hands-on practice: supervised driving on real equipment, including pickup, travel, stacking, and parking.
- Written and practical evaluation: a written test, then a trainer watches each operator drive and handle loads.
- Certificate and wallet card: operators who pass receive their certificate of completion and wallet card the same day.

| Scissor Lift and Aerial/Boom Lift | $200 |
| Standard Forklift (Sit-Down LPG or EPJ) | $280 |
| Reach Truck | $300 |
| Order Picker | $300 |

| Forklift plus Order Picker | $490 |
| Forklift, Scissor Lift, and EPJ | $550 |
| Full Multi-Equipment | $650 |
Online forklift operator training is $45 per seat, and online aerial and scissor lift operator training is $59 per seat. Onsite training at your facility is quoted per person. Volume pricing for larger crews is confirmed in your quote.
Train the Trainer Programs for In-House Forklift Certification
Companies that hire often or run several sites can save money by training their own in-house trainer. Miramar Forklift offers three ways to do it.
In-Person Train the Trainer
A two- to four-hour instructor-led session at our San Diego or Las Vegas training center. Your trainer learns the OSHA curriculum, how to evaluate operators, and how to teach, and then leaves with a binder of training materials. A scissor and aerial lift train-the-trainer course is also available in San Diego.
Online Train the Trainer Certification
Self-paced trainer certification for forklifts or for aerial and scissor lifts, with an option that ships a physical training kit to your facility.
Trainer Kits
Ready-made kits include presentations, manuals, inspection checklists, written and practical tests with answer keys, and certificates, so your trainer can deliver consistent training to every new hire.
Forklift Recertification and Refresher Training
Certification does not last forever. Under Cal/OSHA Title 8, Section 3668, every operator’s performance must be evaluated at least once every three years. Refresher training is also required sooner when an operator:
- Is seen operating unsafely
- Is involved in an accident or a near miss
- Is found in an evaluation to be operating unsafely
- Is assigned to a different type of truck
- Faces a change in workplace conditions that affects safe operation
Experienced operators can renew in a shorter session, usually about 90 minutes to two hours, either at a training center or onsite.
Preventive Maintenance Supports Your Repair Plan
OSHA and Cal/OSHA do not issue forklift licenses. In California, Title 8, Section 3668 makes the employer responsible for training, evaluating, and certifying each operator. That training must include formal instruction, hands-on practice, and an evaluation of the operator’s performance in the workplace. The certification record must include the operator’s name, the training date, the evaluation date, and who did the training and evaluation.
Miramar Forklift handles the instruction, hands-on practice, and evaluation. Your company then completes the certification record for each operator. Because certification is tied to the equipment and the workplace, operators also need site-specific familiarization on any truck or worksite they haven’t been evaluated on.
Who We Train
- Warehouses and distribution centers: new hires, seasonal crews, and operators moving to reach trucks or order pickers.
- Construction and contractors: forklift, scissor lift, and aerial/boom lift operators working on job sites.
- Manufacturers: operators who move raw materials and finished goods on the plant floor.
- Logistics and 3PL operations: dock and yard operators who load and unload trailers.
- Staffing agencies: workers who need certification before they start a placement.
- Individual job seekers: people adding forklift operation to their resume.
Training, Equipment, and Service From One Company
Miramar Forklift is a San Diego forklift dealer as well as a training provider. The same company that trains your operators can supply the trucks they drive and keep those trucks running. If your training reveals a fleet gap, you can buy from our forklifts for sale, add short-term capacity with forklift rentals, or schedule forklift repair and planned maintenance for units that fail a pre-shift inspection.
